Fortescue wholly owns and operates its purpose designed rail and port facilities, constructed to deliver iron ore from our mines to Port Hedland and on to our customers.
Covering 620km of track, our railway is the fastest, heavy haul line in the world.
The efficient design and layout, optimal berthing configuration and ongoing innovation to increase productivity makes Fortescue’s port the most efficient bulk port operation in Australia. The port has five operating berths and is capable of efficiently exporting more than 170mtpa.
A natural extension of Fortescue’s supply chain, our Fortescue Ore Carriers were designed to complement the industry leading efficiency of our port. FMG Nicola, Grace, Sophia and Sydney made their maiden voyage into Herb Elliott Port in FY17, with the remaining four vessels to be be delivered by mid-2018.
