Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
At Fortescue, the health and safety of our workforce, their
families and the communities in which we operate is our highest priority.
We have a robust COVID-19 Management Plan in place to ensure
we can continue to operate safely. This is regularly reviewed in light of State
and Federal Health requirements and the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Our Incident Management Team is monitoring the latest
guidelines from the Western Australian Government and we continue to provide
regular updates to team members across our Perth offices and operational sites
in the Pilbara.
Currently we have a range of measures in place, which
include:
- Providing
our team, contractors, suppliers and key stakeholders with the latest
information as the COVID-19 outbreak continues
- Sending
direct text messages to employees and contractors relating to immediate changes
as required
- Strict
hygiene and physical distancing measures
- Requirement
to be fully vaccinated, including a booster vaccination when eligible, across
our entire operations including office facilities in WA
- Before
visiting a Fortescue site or our Fortescue Hive, all personnel are required to
undergo mandatory COVID-19 screening which includes receiving a COVID-19 test
and completing a health declaration
- Additional
protective measures at our Fortescue Hive to protect our team members including
the use of perspex shields
- Providing
team members who choose to live outside Western Australia with the option to
relocate, including a relocation allowance for those who chose to move
permanently
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fortescue had already
adopted flexible work practices that enable team members to work from home,
along with other options including flexible start and finish times.
